In 2001 the founder of Genius Kids, Rennu Dhillon, had a vision – to teach every child to “Think Lead and Communicate”. The first Genius Kids was opened in August 2001 offering summer camps teaching science incorporating public speaking at the same time. This was a phenomenal success leading to the development of an award winning curriculum which incorporates public speaking in every subject taught. Since 2001, hundreds of children have emerged from the program and Genius Kids prodigies stand out in any crowd with their beaming personalities, public speaking and confidence.
Prior to opening Genius Kids, Dhillon was the top producer for a world renowned staffing agency. One of the biggest challenges she experienced as she placed professionals in jobs, was that many candidates despite advanced technical skills in their respective field, lacked the social skills, confidence, interviewing and communication skills to poise themselves for personal interviews. Dhillon was exposed to public speaking and drama from a young age, which she personally feels has been her strongest asset to her success today. “My parents ensured that in addition to a strong academic background, that I was given the necessary training in speech, communication and confidence. I participated in hundreds of competitions at local and national levels which boosted my self-esteem and taught me important life skills, most importantly to handle obstacles and unexpected challenges in life.
