Miss Rennu is the founder of Genius Kids & Win With Words, and her learning interactive recipes are called TLC – Think Lead Communicate with Tender Loving Care.  These lessons have been developed and  are the exclusive proprietary property of Win With Words. The programs cover public speaking, communication, critical thinking, speech writing, cartoon art and confidence building skills.

Is Win With Words an enrichment program or a remedial program?

Win With Words is an enrichment learning program which develops important life skills in children ages 3-15. Our goal is to build important leadership qualities in each child providing them with the necessary life tools to become successful, independent citizens. This helps them I school,  their personal life, high school and college.

How can Win With Words complement what my child currently does?

Regardless of the age of the child or their abilities, Public Speaking is one quality and life skill that  very person needs to have.  The biggest fear people have today after death is the fear of speaking in front of a group.  This is the most common fear and best overcome at a young age when children are able to overcome such phobias with practice and more practice.

How often should my child attend?

The group classes are scheduled once a week, for 1 hour  to 1 hour and 15 minutes each. Students attend once a week, 4 sessions in a month. We recommend parents sign up for 3, 6 or 9 month sessions since like any skill (music, art, and sport) practice makes perfect.  The art of public speaking does not happen overnight and each class will teach different aspects of speech from eye contact to how to manage your audience, how to keep the topic interesting, body actions and posture. Public Speaking develops with regular practice.

How soon can I expect to see results?

As they say Rome was NOT  built in a day. Each child is different and it is important to spend time practicing the skills taught in class at home as well. Most parents begin to see effective results in both class participation and attitude within 10-12 weeks and some sooner. Some children take time to adjust to the class and parents must be patient and allow them time to begin to enjoy the class and appreciate what they are learning. Developing confidence requires teamwork between the parent and the instructor.

What level should my child begin?

Children must be placed in the level suitable to their age and abilities. Our levels 1-6 cater to different age groups, with different goals  for each class. The Recipes are based on Science, Stories, Literature, Social Studies, Character Education, Morals and Social Values.

How much time do I need to commit to my child?

The class is weekly  and an additional  least 5-10 minutes a day practicing their speech for presentations in class. Remember Practice Makes Perfect!

How does Win With Word differ from other Public Speaking Programs?

There are many centers that offer Public Speaking but the question to ask is dotheyreally have a formal curriculum and how effective are the results.  Just placing a child on stage or with a microphone is NOT  pubic speaking. Effective communication, the ability to Inform, Empower and Entertain is a skill that has to be taught by professional who can work with children to bring out their best qualities. Our curriculum is a proven system for the past 12 years.

What competitions does Win With Words produce?

We produce the annual Win With Words competitions as well as provide several opportunities for our students to speak at other events, on radio shows and live performances.
